Saturday 13th April 2024

Te Awamutu Golf Course Cross Country. 3km & 6km run/walk, 9km run. Awesome event on scenic course with a prize giving afterwards. Bring the whole family, options for everyone. All races start 9:30am, entries will also be taken on the day but incur a $5 late fee. Entries are open and more information can be found here.

Sunday 21st April 2024

MTF Finance King and Queen of Mt Maunganui. Junior Race (under 12 and under 16 categories) 10:30am, Senior Race (under 20, open, 35-49 and 50+ categories) 11am. Entries open now!

Saturday 27th April 2024

Local Season Opener - Walnut Grove Relay at Waipuna Park. A fun 1km lap suitable for all ages and abilities. Teams made up on the day. Followed by an afternoon tea, please bring a plate. Meet 1:45pm for a 2pm start. All welcome.

Sunday 28th April 2024

9am Pack runs and walks leaving from Waipuna Park Clubrooms. Suitable for all fitness levels, we will break into groups to explore the local trails of Welcome Bay. Come for a morning walk, jog or your more serious Sunday long run.

Rotorua Marathon and associated events including the Lakefront Road Mile NZ Championships and the Runway 5km Road NZ Championships. More information here.

Waipuna Park - We will set up our 2km XC course, meet 1:45pm for a 2pm start. Come for a run or walk, as many laps as you please.

Saturday 11th May 2024

Huharua Park, Plummers Point Road. We set up an approx 2km course on this beautiful park bordering the harbour. Complete as many laps as you please. Perfect for a run or walk, bring the whole family. Meet at 1:45pm for a 2pm start.

Saturday 18th May 2024

Bayfair Reserve, Russley Drive, Matapihi. We will set up an approx 2km cross country course and may turn it into a relay style event, everyone welcome! Meet at 1:45pm for a 2pm start.

BOP Secondary Schools XC Champs, Waipuna Park

Saturday 25th May 2024

Tauranga Open XC, Waipuna Park. The largest XC event we host each season, races for all age groups. Clubs and schools from all around BOP & Waikato attend but it is open to everyone, you do not need to be a club member. Races start from 12:30pm. Helpers needed to set up and marshal - working bee starts from 9am. Prize giving and afternoon tea after the final race.

9am Pack run from McLaren Falls Park. Meet at main carpark by cafe. Suitable for all fitness levels, we will break into groups to explore the trails of this beautiful park. Come for a morning walk, jog or your more serious Sunday long run.

Saturday 8th June 2024

I'Anson Reserve Relay, Loop Road Te Puna. A fun relay with different length loops to appeal to all ages. We make up teams on the day and encourage the whole family to participate, also great for a speedwork session! Meet 1:45pm for a 2pm start.

Foster Smythe Cross Country Races, Rotorua. Lake City Athletics Club invite us to participate in a sealed handicap (mass start) cross country located at Paiaka Trust Farmland at the top of Utuhina Road, Rotorua. The main event is approx 10km which is 3 laps. A kids race does one lap and you can chose to do 2 laps if you wish. Event starts 2pm, please allow plenty of time to find parking and sign in before you start, there is no entry fee.

Hamilton Hawks XC at Minogue Park, Tui Avenue, Hamilton. Combined with their club champs they invite all the clubs from WaiBOP to come along and participate. It is free to compete but please register from 12:30pm beforehand. Papamoa Hills “Hill Climb” meet at the Regional Park carpark on Poplar Lane at 1:45pm for a 2pm start, with Te Puke, Whakatane and Lake City invited to join us. 1km hill climb for U12's, 2km climb to the summit for everyone else. It might be short but it's a tough one! We will then break into groups for social pack runs, mingling with the other clubs and showing them around the Papamoa Hills Regional Park and adjoining Summerhill Mountain Bike Park. Please bring a plate for a shared afternoon tea.

AIMS Games XC Practice - we will set up the AIMS Games course for our junior athletes to practice on and anyone else who wishes to come for a run. Meet 1:45pm for a 2pm start at Waipuna Park, Welcome Bay.

Manawahe Cross Country (near Matata) - Hosted by Whakatane Harriers. 1377 Manawahe Road, meet at the earlier time of 1pm. Interclub run combining Whakatane, Te Puke and Tauranga. 3 different lap lengths including a kids 1.2km, a 2km and a 3.5km loop, everyone welcome.

Set up of the AIMS games cross country course at Waipuna Park, Welcome Bay from 9am. Please come along and help, many hands make light work! Once the course is set up you are welcome to run or walk it.

Red Stag Redwoods Interclub Relay, hosted by Lakecity Athletics. Teams of 4 racing 4km each through the Redwoods.

Club Road/Trail Champs, Gordon Spratt Reserve, Papamoa. We mark a 2km block on gravel trails, complete as many laps as you please. Suitable for all ages and abilities including walkers. Meet 1:45pm for a 2pm start. Please bring a plate for a shared afternoon tea. From Parton Road turn into Alice Lane, right towards main carpark then straight behind the Sport and Rec Center, look for our flags. All welcome!

9am Pack Run at Otanewainuku, Mountain Road, Oropi. We will break into groups running, jogging and walking the beautiful bush trails, with options of either climbing Mt Otanewainuku to the viewing platform, or heading out on the river trail to the waterfall. Come join us for an enjoyable Sunday social outing. Everyone welcome! (Please allow plenty of drive time)

Carmichael Reserve, Bethlehem. Trail run around the tracks and scenic wetlands. Possibility of including some speedwork/efforts or a short relay to get some speed in the legs before track season! Everyone welcome including walkers. Meet at 1:45pm for a 2pm start.

Saturday 12th October 2024

Nelson Memorial Handicap 8.6km run around Waikareao Estuary. Shorter options for youth and walkers. Trophies up for grabs. Meet at the bottom of Coach Drive, Otumoetai. Followed by an afternoon tea and a chance to get together as the final outing for the 2024 winter season. Everyone welcome, you do not need to be a club member to participate! Meet at 1:45pm for a 2pm start.
